Nov 4th was Orphan Sunday

Community Orphan Sunday Event

On November 4th, 2012, thousands of events echoed across America and around the globe, all sharing a single goal: that God’s great love for the orphan will find echo in our lives as well. On Orphan Sunday, Christians stand for the orphan. We are a people called to defend the fatherless…to care for the child that has no family…to visit orphans in their distress.

Woven Together is hosted a night of worship and awareness.  Over 100 people from all over Logan County joined us at Lincoln Christian Church.  It was a beautiful display of many faith groups uniting for a cause that is  our Father’s heart.

Orphan’s Table

Experiences impact us more deeply than words.  On Orphan Sunday (or anytime in November), share a meal eaten by orphans around the world. Gather with family, small group or church for the meal, discussion and prayer.  See more at the Orphan Sunday page.

Heart Gallery at Lincoln Public Library

The Lincoln Public Library  showcased the Illinois Heart Gallery during the month of November.  November is National Adoption Month, and this photo gallery  showcased children in Illinois who are waiting for their forever family.  You can also see the photos and biographies of the children online here.
